The Richmond Promise is hiring 10 College Summer Associates through Americorps VISTA!
In partnership with West Contra Costa Unified School District, the City of Richmond, and our college partners, Richmond Promise College Summer Associates will advance the mission of the Richmond Promise over the critical summer months by a) building early college awareness by bringing the Near Peer Ambassador Program to DeJean and Helms middle school students; b) supporting a successful high school to college transition for rising Richmond Promise Scholars; c) informing the development of college resources and tools to expand community college knowledge, access and outreach in the coming year.

Compensation: Richmond Promise Summer Associates Compensation is provided in the form of the VISTA subsistence allowance (it is not a wage) and congressionally authorized at $925.12 bi-weekly, paid through direct deposit and is taxable. Summer Associates may elect to receive a $1,252.91 education award provided upon the successful completion of the 8-week term. It is applicable towards qualified federal student loans and future education expenses and it is valid for up to seven years. Or, Summer Associates may elect to receive an end-of-service stipend which accrues at the rate of $4.94/day of service.
