Two, brand new Bigbelly trash cans have been installed in the Metro Walk plaza area, near the entrance to the Richmond Transit Station. With nearly 8000 transit users passing through the Richmond station every day, these new Bigbelly cans are sure to make a big difference in the cleanliness of the area and experience for residents, workers, and visitors. These smart, sensor-equipped waste & recycling stations are high capacity cans that communicate real-time status to collection crews…which means our efforts to keep Downtown clean and safe have taken a big step forward. These cans are part of a pilot program led by the City of Richmond to create a more efficient system for waste management.
