A few weeks ago we noticed a new mural in the works in Downtown. After a bit of digging and a serendipitous encounter with the artist, we learned that the mural has been commissioned by Richmond Arts & Culture Commission as part of a project called Community Conversations. You may recall seeing us share invites to these dialog events last year. The artist is Richard Muro Salazar — also the creative mind and talented hands behind the Alive & Free mural (Anitas building at Harbour Way & Macdonald Avenue) and the Downtown Richmond banners on Macdonald Avenue (16th Street – Harbour Way). Word on the street is that the mural will be complete sometime in August. Swing by the Hacienda Grill parking lot/LifeLong Brookside clinic at 1030 Nevin Avenue to check it out!
