A few years back, we advocated for and worked with the City to include Downtown Richmond in a pilot program for installing BigBelly trash receptacles. This past November we were pleasantly surprised to be contacted by the City again, this time asking for recommendation on where to install more BigBelly units. Then a few weeks later, we noticed that many of our wishes had come true! There are now about 20 BigBelly trash-recycle units throughout Downtown. These smart cans are high capacity and use smart technology to signal when they are full. We look forward to seeing how they help keep Downtown clean and safe.
