Special Message from our Executive Director:

Amanda ElliottHappy 2019! What a difference a year makes. We’re off and running into what we believe will be a year of monumental change Downtown Richmond.  If you haven’t taken a stroll down Macdonald Avenue recently, you’ve missed some exciting updates. CoBiz Richmond and the food hall at the Richmond Business Hub are nearly complete! I can’t wait to be one of the first to make a purchase at Red Bay Coffee. I’m sure the line will be out the door so get ready and stay tuned for news about the grand opening in the next few months.

Richmond Main Street is an active part of the changes and transition happening downtown. After nearly 5 years at the historic Carquinez Apartments, we have relocated our office to the new Downtown Richmond Visitor Center (formerly R-Transit) at the Richmond BART Station. We are excited about our new location, which is truly at the center of activity Downtown…and look forward to sharing the space with you. Big thanks to the City of Richmond for all their help with the move!

As we embark upon these transformative changes downtown, we recognize the importance of including community voices in the process. In that spirit, we invite you to participate in a community meeting with developer Ernst Valery, SAA|EVI to discuss plans for the 12th & Macdonald and Richmond Business Hub projects. In order to build projects that equitably represent the needs of the community we need your input.

Join us on Wednesday, February 13, from 7-9pm at our office, located at 1600 Nevin Plaza in the new Downtown Richmond Visitor Center for the first of several community engagement sessions. Help us identify key goals and objectives to create a vision for downtown development that represents you. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Please RSVP. Let’s keep the momentum going!

In partnership,
Amanda Elliott
