Richmond Main Street Meal Giveaway

Collaborating with community to provide free meals to food insecure residents.

Richmond Main Street Meal Giveaway Program

Richmond Main Street Initiative received a generous donation of 500-6500 meals per week between September 1 – December 31, 2020 courtesy of World Central Kitchen and Eat.Learn.Play Foundation, as part of our COVID19 response efforts. In total, 82,500 meals were distributed to food-insecure community members in the Iron Triangle neighborhood and beyond. We are grateful for our amazing board of directors and community partners Richmond PAL, Iron Triangle Neighborhood Council, Richmond Kiwanis, GRIP, Richmond SOS!, and others for their support in setting up the distribution site, coordinating volunteers, and arranging for delivery to housed and unhoused residents in Central and North Richmond who were unable to travel to the pick-up site.
