About the Beautify Downtown Campaign
Richmond Main Street is working in collaboration with the Richmond Police Department Bicycle Patrol and Code Enforcement to promote econo mic vitality, walkability, safety and beautification in the downtown area. Our volunteer Neighborhood Ambassadors walk the corridor on a daily basis to keep Downtown clean and safe by abating graffiti, picking up litter, and reporting blight issues. 

Since its launch in October 2010, this program has helped to change perceptions about the district by making visible and significant reductions in neighborhood blight, reporting, quality of life issues to appropriate authorities, and actively engaging with visitors, residents and visitors. On average, the Neighborhood Ambassadors resolve 90% of the issues identified.
