Call for Artists – Art in Windows
About Art In Windows
The Richmond Main Street Art in Windows program is an effort to bring multidisciplinary art exhibitions and installations to the Downtown Richmond commercial corridor. The program seeks to transform vacant buildings and blighted properties, highlight the work of local artists, support the mission of Richmond Main Street Initiative, and increase access to the arts for the entire community.
Submission Process
Artists submissions to participate in this program are accepted on a rolling basis. The Art In Windows committee will review submissions quarterly. Proposals will be evaluated by a panel consisting of representatives from the Art In Windows Review Committee made up of local stakeholders, experienced art leaders and advisers, as well as City of Richmond agencies. The panel will take the following aspects of the submission into consideration: public safety, artistic merit, site suitability, and artwork durability.
Please download the Art In Windows Call for Artists 2011-2012 document for more information about the program and submission guidelines/process.
