This season’s Art In Windows exhibition features the dynamic paintings of two phenomenal African-American Bay Area artists:

Stephen Bruce is a self-taught painter who utilizes chemical reactions and experimentation to create striking seascapes and abstract environments. His acid paintings are evocative of expressionism and honor his greatest inspiration, Mother Earth.

Tracy Ricks’ large-scale abstract paintings from the series A New Day are a testimony to spiritual reflection and bountiful artistic expression. Her paintings draw to mind the symbolic meaning of color popular in many modern movements, yet her artistic voice is all her own.
