Amanda
Elliott is a graduate of St. Mary’s College with a master’s
degree in organizational leadership. She
also holds a BA in Liberal Arts and Interdisciplinary
studies from San Francisco State University.
Before joining Richmond Main Street
Initiative, she was alumni relations
manager and program coordinator for the
Maynard Institute in Oakland where she
was responsible for creating, managing,
and organizing special alumni programs
for the Maynard Institute through regular
communication and special events. She
was additionally responsible for assisting
with the marketing and promotion of programs,
the recruitment of training participants,
and the oversight of all program logistics.
Amanda has worked in the non-profit
sector for several years, previously
at the University of California, Berkeley's
Department of Dramatic Art as publicity
coordinator. Amanda has also worked at
KQED and KOFY. She completed a news internship
at KPFA radio where she also worked as
a volunteer reporter co-host of a public
affairs program.
Amanda is an accomplished
vocalist and songwriter. She often performs
in the Bay Area with her husband Terence
Elliott at special events and clubs.
She has a CD of their original music
titled Kissed By A Dove produced by their
music company Nymani Music www.nymanimusic.com. She
is a longtime Richmond resident.
